“We’re here to do good things for other people. Insurance just happens to be how we do it.”
A. About This Opportunity
Over the last year, Emerald Insurance Advocates has been built on trust, relationships, and a genuine commitment to doing good things for other people. Now it’s time to grow — and we’re looking for the right people to grow with us.
This is a fully remote, commission-based independent contractor opportunity. Whether you’re balancing family life, navigating military life, building a second career, or simply looking for more freedom and flexibility, this role is designed to be built around your life — not the other way around.
This is not a “sit behind a desk and wait for leads” position. This is not for someone looking to punch a clock and collect a paycheck. This is for someone who believes relationships are built one conversation, one handshake, and one promise kept at a time.
B. Who We Serve
Our producers serve military families, first responders, homeowners, business owners, investors, newlyweds, growing families, and people preparing for whatever life brings next. Every policy placed helps another family or business owner stand on firmer ground.
Our producers build lasting relationships with Realtors, lenders, builders, financial professionals, local businesses, military-affiliated organizations, and community partners. We don’t measure success by the number of policies placed. We measure it by the number of people who trust us enough to call us first.
C. What You’ll Do
- Build and grow a personal book of business through daily prospecting, community relationship building, and referral partnerships.
- Identify, qualify, and develop P&C insurance opportunities across personal and commercial lines through the insured’s preferred forms of communication.
- Foster and maintain excellent relationships with clients and prospects through regular follow-up, accurate and timely quotations, and genuine account support.
- Utilize our carrier partner panel — nearly 100 carriers — to place each account with the carrier that fits their coverage needs best.
- Field client and prospect inquiries, ensuring all relevant account information is accurately documented and maintained in agency systems in a timely manner.
- Actively prospect, round accounts, and solicit appropriate increases in existing client coverage.
- Obtain best coverage and rate for the insured, process quotes, and bind insurance coverage; follow up as necessary with required documentation.
- Present policies to clients and educate them on coverages, rates, and options in plain language they can understand.
- Support clients through renewal and retention, maintaining strong relationships built on trust and follow-through.
- Maintain CE requirements and stay current on industry information, products, legislation, and technology.
- Additional responsibilities as mutually agreed upon.
D. Who We’re Looking For
We care far more about character, work ethic, and a genuine desire to help people than we do about industry experience. Insurance experience is welcomed — but it is not required.
- Builds relationships naturally
- Communicates with confidence and authenticity
- Follows through without being reminded
- Loves solving problems and helping people
- Thinks like an owner, not an employee
- Values integrity, accountability, and service
- Is coachable, disciplined, and professional
- Does what they say they’ll do
You do not need an existing book of business. You do need to be committed to doing your best work every day.
E. What We Provide
Carriers — Access to nearly 100 insurance carrier partners to find the right fit for every client.
Technology — Agency systems and tools to manage your pipeline and clients professionally.
Brand — A recognized, trusted agency brand with a reputation built on advocacy and community.

F. Requirements
- Hold an active P&C insurance license required by the state at the time of contractor engagement.
- Ability to work independently and manage a personal book of business without supervision.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of, or a genuine willingness to learn, P&C insurance products, coverages, and industry operations.
- Possess strong communication, relationship-building, and follow-through skills.
- Maintain a professional, client-first approach in all interactions.
- Proficiency with a personal computer and standard web-based platforms and agency systems.
- Candidates may be subject to pre-engagement assessments and background screening in accordance with applicable laws and agency policies.
G. Compensation & Structure
This is a commission-only, independent contractor position with unlimited earning potential. Producers are compensated based on production results. There is no income ceiling.
If you’re tired of jobs that put a ceiling on your income — if you’re tired of building someone else’s dream — this is built differently.
H. Applicable Laws
This is an independent contractor arrangement. The producer is responsible for their own taxes, licensing fees, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Emerald Insurance Advocates does not withhold taxes or provide employee benefits under this agreement. Nothing in this description shall be construed to create an employer-employee relationship.
This job description is not intended to create a contract of engagement and may be modified by management at any time, with or without notice. The right fit won’t just build a book of business — they’ll build a reputation, a relationship, and a legacy.
